Filmmakers in Edo State under the auspice of Some Concerned Film Makers of Nigeria (SCFN) has earlier today congratulated one of the Members, Board of Trustees, Elderstateman in the movie industry, Award winning Nollywood Film Producer and Director, Sir. Andrew Osawaru, popularly know as 'De Ancestor' on bestowment of 'Heartbeat of Our Time Honourary Award' by the Edo State Government.


The award ceremony which climaxed the closing of Edo State International Film Festival 2022 as organized by the State Government through Edo  State Skills Development Agency (Edo Jobs), saw the presence of the Chief Host, the Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki, alongside with Notable Filmmakers within and outside the Country recounting and  reminiscing the aesthetic beauty of Arts, performance, as x-rayed in the just concluded Film Festival.

 

Presenting the Award, the Co- Host of the event, Award winning Nollywood Producer and Director, Amb. Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen described the awardee as an astute trailblazer in the movie industry who have supported the industry in various positive ways, adding that the award was for deserving Edo Filmmakers who have contributed immensely to the growth of the industry which is now tagged 'Edo to the world'


While congratulating the Elderstateman, the President of the forum, Nollywood Film Producer,  Comrade Goodluck Osama Ogbeide described Sir. Osawaru as a selfless and Committed Filmmaker who is concerned about refining and promoting young talents to stardom. "It is a meritorious award for the Ancestor, our living legend" He added.
