*EDHA 2023: Gov. Obaseki assure PDP Aspirants fairness, neutrality ahead of Party primary*

The Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki has yesterday assured PDP aspirants for Edo State House of Assembly seat across the State, that he is resolute on fairness ahead of the upcoming party's primaries.
The Governor stated this in the Festival Hall of the State Government House in a meeting with all the aspirants under the platform of the PDP. He however salute the sagacity and doggedness of the aspirants for taking up the challenge to represent their various constituencies, adding that all aspirants under the PDP are is own and one big family.
Obaseki however declared that he is not Interested over who wins the party's ticket, but rather admonished Party leaders and delegates to project aspirants with credibility and acceptability, assuring that the meeting was solely to ignite peace and unity among aspirants and not to compel anyone to collapse structure and withdraw from the race.
In his words, Obaseki said "As Government we are not perturbed over who gets the ticket. We will work with whosoever that emerge as the party flag bearer. We must eschew politics of bitterness. I don't want you all to spend your resources unnecessarily. Lets look at ourselves properly and mend fences. We know those that have the credibility and capacity to win election within us, lets rally round them, so that we all can be united to defeat other political parties, don't forget, we still have few months for campaign. We must put this into consideration"
On the issue of concensus candidate being endorsed by the Governor currently being peddled by some members of the public, Gov. Obaseki said "I didn't ask anybody to step down and quit the race. I remain neutral because everybody is my own. My goal is that PDP must win, both in State level, National Assembly and in presidency. We will need everyone in the general election, so lets embrace unity within ourselves. The various Leaders have role to play by having a special meeting with all aspirants" He added.
Other notable personalities present at the meeting includes: The Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, the Secretary to State Government, Hon. Osarodion Ogie, The Chief of Staff, Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha, The PDP State Chairman, Hon. Tony Aziegbemi, The PDP National Leade, High Chief Tom Ikhimi.
