Legislative Business, Not for the faint-heart; Recounting Institutional Design and Legislative Behaviour: Rt. Hon. Roland Asoro as a witty example
By: Goodluck Osama Ogbeide
No doubt, the National Assembly is unique citadel because of the diverse range of elected positions it encompasses. It is not an office which should be sacrificed for amateurs or myopic non vibrant individuals, who lacks the ability to lobby and attract development to his or her constituency.
It also expedient to note that being vibrant differs from being selfless and goal oriented. The seat is not for moribund individuals, but intelligent icons who will not go and break melons nor select the exocarps of beans at the Chamber.
In most democratic countries, elected officials must balance the interests of their constituents against the interests of the broader electorate, which is more integral.
Haven done well, in the current office held sailing through the rank to that of the Deputy Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, with several motions moved, bills instituted and sponsored, with numerous verifiable projects to show, it is obvious that Rt. Hon. Roland Osadebamwen Asoro is very much qualified to represent the good people of Orhionmwon and Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency, in Federal House of Representatives, Abuja.
