Edo Deputy Speaker, bags Ambrose Alli Varsity Role Model Award

The Deputy Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly and member representing Orhionmwon South Consistency, Rt. Hon. Roland Osadebamwen Asoro was on monday honoured with the 'Role Model Award' of the Ambrose Alli University (A.A.U), Ekpoma.

The award was conferred on him by the prestigious varsity during the Anniversary Lecture and Award Ceremony held at the University's pavilion earlier today.

The Award Ceremony and Symposium session was among the activities lineup for the commemoration of 40th year anniversary of Ambrose Alli University founded by then Bendel State Governor, Professor Ambrose Folorunsho Alli in 1981, which thereafter  metamorphosed into a glamorous enviable citadel of knowledge in recent time.

Meanwhile, current Vice-Chancellor (Acting capacity) of the varsity, Prof. Osarhieme Benson Osadolor from History and International Studies in University of Benin, is poised towards reawakening the dream and vision of the founder of the University, Prof. Ambrose Alli, through a well informed  strategy to redefine the standard, quality of teaching and learning, as propelled by the Gov. Godwin Obaseki led administration.

Presenting the award to the Deputy Speaker, the organizers acknowledged the tireless efforts of the Hon. Roland Osadebamwen Asoro for his meticulous exemplary role in the society as an highly resourceful lawmaker, adding that he is one of the few lawmakers who believes in upholding the value of education, adding that he was carefully selected for the meritorious award.

They further added that the awards were given to honour intellects in the society  who have distinguished themselves in their various areas of expertise and have by so doing brought honour to overall academic body and society atlarge.

While reacting to the ecstatic honour, the Deputy Speaker, thanked and appreciated God for the huge honour, describing the award as a vital one which holds great significance for him and promised to always strife to make good contributions that would help in preserving the glory and beauty of the society, as well as assuring Edo people that he would continue to add his voice to that of other lawmakers to continously enact, propagate and promote laws which will always ignite development to the society.

Mega House Tv reports that that the  celebration, which commenced from Sunday October 24th to 30th, 2021, will no doubt feature public lectures, social works, lottery, academic excellence award to exemplary staff, launch of AAU Hall of Fame, art exhibition, drama presentations, cultural dances, fashion parades, live concert, photogenic contest, beauty pageants and lot’s more.
