Happy Independence Day to our siblings of same fertile flesh who emanates from the fruitful but almost decayed land called 'Nigeria'.
Let me Chronicle my article by first unraveling the fact that, we are aware 'Freedom of Speech is Free, but Freedom after speech is not guaranteed', yet the snake will unveil it's poisonous venom, in defense of her territory.
Our country is clearly a nation at war with itself. Petals of blood masked our kindred spirit. Blood of greed and deceit flows in our veins. Sincerely, we are tired of self-centered leaders, whose presence depicts absence, all for their evil agenda.
It is imperative to note that Nigeria as a Country might not be possibly where she ought to be, but however, we are also certain that we are not where we use to be.
Corruption has continued to bore a hole in our heart, just as fluvial tears masked our feelings all day, in anticipation of a brighter day, with yawn and breathe covered like a grave.
This land will surely weep again with the repetition of the past mistakes. With the children of the bourgeoisies emulating their father's act of indecisiveness, with the children of the proletariat and talakawas unreadiness to tackle the masked intruder called 'Oppression'. With some senseless masses being used as tugs to oppress their fellow oppressed.
Clergy men neglect the pulpit and salvation message for prosperity in quest for seeds, tithes and offerings. Human Right Activists preaches bail is free, charges victims to pay for facilitation fee to secure bail and pockets the money. Many had even quit the struggle for peanuts of bribe.
Why Weep for our country when we are not ready to mend fences or amend are ways? Why Weep for our land, when her womb is barren in fury, like fugitive under captivity.
Why blame Politicians, when you possess the same spirit of greed, imagine our religious leaders with their speculations of religious bigotry, favouritism, nepotism, religious and tribal sentiments have made it impossible to run a merit driven system. Hard work, brilliance, honesty and integrity in our dealings are no longer rewarded, celebrating mediocre.
Insurgency movements everywhere with their mission geared towards destabilizing the country to the point of state absolute failure and possible disintegration. Including the religious and ideological discontent which appears to be propelling the current conflict in the Northern part of the country.
The issue of insurgency, is no doubt growing bigger in strength, size and sophistication, becoming very ominous for our Nation. This is not the country we inherited from our predecessors.
It's not that vital country we envisioned as young men. Hot brutality and reoccurring gruesome murder by unrepentant Fulani Herdsmen is another dose of pains on its own, banditry, electoral violence is the recent words for her. Old men with retired brain, fight for double electoral positions, caging their vibrant sons and daughters indoors, I weep!
It's clearly constitutional demagogue and I recommend a supreme council body for interreligious conflict - to function as a final arbiter in all interreligious conflicts. The problems are a complex blend of social, political, ethnic, legal and religious saga which now bedevil the nation's fortune.
If all the abnormalities and mistakes are not corrected, Nigeria will surely weep again, like weak cocoyam leave. Let's wake up now and act wisely now.
I Rise!
