Edo Govt reassures commitment to promote Arts and Craft, unveils plan to support indigenous talents

The Executive Governor of Edo State, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki has reinstated commitment to promote Arts, Craft, rich cultural heritage of the Benin Kingdom and  overall  entertainment sector of the state.

The State Governor gave the reassurance earlier today during the  unveiling of the largest Benin Bronze Plague as designed by Mr. Lukas Okoro of the Iyase of Benin Household,  at the Esezebor GRA axis of Benin City.

Gov. Godwin Obaseki who was ably represented by the  Chief of Staff, Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha said the state Government will not relent in identifying potentials capable of igniting development to the state, adding that Edo will continue to witness development in the Arts sector.

He further said Edo State Government is wholeheartedly concerned about the promotion and refinning of talents, as well as encourage the Artiste to continue to make Edo proud.

In his words, "It is no longer news that Gov. Godwin Obaseki led Administration is readily available to join hands with other like mind in the promotion of the rich cultural heritage of the Benin Kingdom. We will not relent in embracing activities which sought to promote Arts, Craft, Cultural values and overall entertainment sector. We are proud of this great move by one of our illustrious sons"

The high point of the meeting was the official unveiling and a walk round the Benin Bronze historical village as designed by Mr. Lukas Okoro of the Iyase of Benin Household.

On his part, one of the leading promoter of the rich cultural heritage of Benin and father of the Former Award winning Commissioner for Arts, Culture, Tourism and Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Osaze Osemwengie-Ero expresses optimism that Edo sons are seriously putting in their efforts to promote Edo culture to the world. "We are glad seeing our Children showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Benin Kingdom to the world" he said.
