Orhionmwon Youths congratulate their own, Prof. Benson Osadolor on appointment as acting VC, AAU
Consequent to the dissolution of the Governing Council of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, in pursuance to the (Special Intervention Powers) provisions Law 2021, which empowers visitor to the University, Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo State to intervene in the lingering impasse in the Academic Community, intellectual Youths of Orhionmwon Local Government Area, under the aegid of 'Orhiomwon Youth Alliance' has wholeheartedly congratulate their Father and illustrious son, Prof. Benson Osarhiemen Osadolor, on his recent appointment as the acting Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.
In a Press Statement jointly signed by the President and Secretary, Comrade (Dcn) Jonathan Okunbor and Comrade Goodluck Osama Ogbeide respectively, they showered encomium on the magnanimous prowess of the erudite scholar, as well as appreciated Gov. Godwin Obaseki for his integrity displayed in appointing, a square peg in a square hole to deliver the institution from it's slumber State, and achieved the desired reposition of her dream, adding that Prof. Benson Osarhiemen Osadolor who hails from Urhonigbe Community of Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, has continuously and persistently softened the pedal of academic career in several positions held, not exonerating his previous portfolios; as the Head of Department, History and International Relations, Dean of Faculty of Arts/ Humanities, and subsequently, Dean of Students of the prestigious University of Benin, Benin City, Edo State.
The intellectual group however appreciated the Governor for being systematic and meticulous in playing the role of Deus ex machina in the Ambrose Alli University saga, adding that bringing a scholar outside the University box was the only remedy to curb the lingering crises and tug of War in the book village.
The group however expressed optimism that Prof. Benson Osadolor will no doubt revamp, and reposition the University with his wealth of experience in the edu-sector, haven served without blemished in various portfolio held, assuring that the University will witness transformation with innovative and technology-driven expertiate in charge of the managerial affairs.
The group also said the mismanagement and maladministration orchestrated by the previous era will definitely become a thing of the past with capable hand like Prof. Osadolor.
Mega House TV however reports that, "Prof. Osadolor, a Professor of History at the University of Benin, is trained at the University of Hamburg, Germany and University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
“He brings to bear at the institution nearly 4 decades career as an academic and university administrator, which has taken him through Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, USA; Morgan State University, Baltimore, Maryland; San Diego State University, San Diego, California, USA; University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria; University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria and Igbinedion University, Okada, Nigeria, among others."
“Prof. Osadolor is also a Visiting Research Fellow in African History at the University of Hamburg, Germany and an academic consultant to the Art History Museum, in Vienna, Austria,” it noted.
