_...charges member to shun factional politics_
The People Democratic Party (PDP) Orhionmwon local government chapter today held executives meeting at the party secretariat, Abudu. The meeting was called to officially harmonize PDP and APC Executives at both local government and ward levels. During the build up to the September 19th governorship election, handful of APC faithfuls defected along with Governor Godwin Obaseki to the PDP. According to the conveners, the purpose was to call on members to close rank in promoting unity and oneness in the party.
Admonishing all party stalwarts, the Orhionmwon PDP chairman, Prince Stanley Iduoze charged members and Executives to desist from any act capable of instigating disunity amongst members. He urged them to be acomondating to the new members especially the APC Executives who relinquished their various party positions to pursue the course of Governor Obaseki's reelection bid.
Prince Iduoze said, "I want to on behalf of PDP leadership in our dear Orhionmwon thank every members of our great party for the unalloyed loyalties. In the same vein, i must also commend our compatriots who without considering their exalted party portfolios, formed a formidable force in ensuring our Governor won the election with a wide margin in Orhionmwon, you have exhibited high level of patriotism".
Speaking further, the PDP chairman appealed to all members to abide in that spirit of oneness, open their hands of fellowship to all and ensure members are carried along in the scheme of things while all forms of factional meetings shunned.
On his part, the immediate past APC chairman in Orhionmwon local government area, Elder Ben Oghumu appreciated members who sincerely worked in ensuring Governor Obaseki was reelected for second term in office.
He said, "some of you were intimidated, offered huge sum of money, harassed but you kept your focus and were determined to ensure Governor Obaseki return. You have all excellently done well, the election results from the various units and wards confirmed how you doggedly you fought for our great party. The resounding victory was your determination to establish the open fact, that power truly belongs to the people."
Members present at the elaborate harmonization meeting includes Mr. Damnoi Ugbikile, Pst. Monday Igbinigie, Mr. Osagie Osaretin Abudu, Madam Ayo Osayande, Princess Nomwengho Uhuanmwangho, LGA executives and ward chairmen.
