An Appreciative Open Letter To An Achiever, Hon. Sylvester Okoro who served Orhionmwon without blemish
_You came, saw, conquered. I never regretted working with you. I will choose to work with you, over and over again. You are selfless, humble_
As the curtain of the three (3) years term of the present Eighteen (18) Local Government Chairmen in Edo State prepares close its yawn in few days time, it is however expedient to appreciate an Achiever who served meritoriously without any blemish. Hence, the base of this discourse.
With immense gratitude, let me use this opportunity to register my heart-felt gratitude and sincere appreciation to my Boss, the Executive Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, Hon. Sylvester Okoro whose humility confound us, for his positive transformation of Orhionmwon Council.
He is no doubt a blessed and celebrated icon with the potentials to carrying all along. He must be appreciated for his foresight in local government administration who worked immensely with passion, enthusiasm, ingenuity and leadership by example all in lieu of attracting development to Orhionmwon.
Sincerely, Orhionmwon is not where it was supposed to be developmentally, but we also agree deeply that the council wouldn't had attained this transformational agenda, if not for the handwork of a selfless servant who professed deep desire to see Orhionmwon takes her pride of place in the society.
You expressed your determination to see Orhionmwon return to the days where council workers have no option than to do their works diligently before payment, rather than sit at home as ghost workers, with salaries entry their coffers. You stopped this action totally with the institution of 'Workers Verification exercise' which helped flushed out the ghost workers from the system.
It was obvious to all, audible to the deaf and visible to the blind
that you wanted jobs at all cost for your people, you wanted infrastructure, wanted collaborations, wanted a secured Council, wanted a better livelihood for the people of Orhionmwon.
I write to thank and appreciate you for delivering so excellently on your promises within the three years of your administration, irrespective of the little allocation that comes to Orhionmwon. You maintained sanity in the system.
The most recent, and the most significant development is your boldness in tackling security issues. We agree that security problem is a National Issue, but your wisdom and systematic approach to politics cannot be overemphasized.
Let call a spade, a spade, How many leaders would give this course the kind of doggedness that you gave it? When personalty interest and self-centeredness is the major food for many.
You inspired the youths of Orhionmwon, making them know that youthful leadership is possible. You made this possible in the appointment of about 85% youths in your cabinet and this further added to the victory song of today. Unlike the days of old, when Orhionmwon was being controlled by aged politicians who sees fresh breeds in governance as holistic taboo.
Over the years, Orhionmwon people had suffered long period of underdevelopment as a result of some self-centered leaders whose eyes were glued to Council's treasuring, rather than attracting development and effective deliverables.
I craved the indulgence of Hon. Sylvester Okoro to continuously maintain this positive status quo you are already known for as I pray to God who gives power to grant you vital opportunities in your future sojourn as you prepare to handover without blemish.
A child who washes his hands well eats with elders. You have done well and you have also washed your hands well. By God's grace your future sojourn will be another opportunity for positive transformation, remarkable legacy extension and making an enduring positive mark in Orhionmwon political history.
Sincerely, you have not disappointed us in any way rather you have made us extremely proud. This necessitates this thank you message. More power to your elbow Baba Ekos, the Council Boss with positive difference. The humble and bold Chairman among Chairmen.
Sincerely, I never regretted working with you, in fact I will choose to work with you, over and over again because you are selfless and extremely humble. Thanks for the privilege to serve Sir.
Long live Orhionmwon!
Long live Edo State!
Long live Hon. Sylvester Okoro
