Orhionmwon PDP Leaders sues for unity, peaceful co-existence among Party Membes, redefines agenda

Leaders of the People's Democratic Party, (PDP) in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State have sued for unity, peaceful co-existence among party members in the local government, just as they condemns actions which sought to ridicule development in the area, adding that communal tension is needless in quest for enthroning development in Orhionmwon, insisting that there must be a need to change the narrative for accurate testimonies.
The Political leaders made this call in an enlarged Leadership meeting summoned at the instance of the Deputy Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Roland Osademwen Asoro, who doubles as the Member Representing Orhionmwon in the Legislative House, Yesterday in Benin City.
In his introductory speech, the convener, Rt. Hon. Roland Asoro said the the main purpose of the meeting was to appreciate the leaders for their endless efforts which culminated in the electoral victory of Gov. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki and the PDP family in the previous Edo gubernatorial polls, as well as buttressed the need for Orhionmwon leaders to shun politics of bitterness in lieu of enthroning a better, United, robust and developed Orhionmwon.
The Deputy Speaker further said "Orhionmwon has the best brain with the capacity to lead the nation. However, disunity has remain it's greatest Challenge. if Orhionmwon must witness development, we all must stand together in oneness"
On his part, the Executive Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Hon. Sylvester Okoro admonished the capable leaders not to sacrifice competency at the alter of sentiments, adding that Orhionmwon will only witness development when the inhabitants tends to put aside self interest, as well as desist from the attitude of paying Social Media personals to tarnish the image of certain leaders for personal interest, craving their indulgence to build the Council in oneness and selflessness.
In his words, Hon. Okoro said, "Orhionmwon will sincerely witness developmental progress if the leaders and otherwise decides to put aside self interest. Paying Social Media personnels to ridicule some leaders will only make us wash our dirty linen outside. We must desist from that act if we must move forward"
The Chairman of the People's Democratic Party in Orhionmwon, Prince Stanley Iduoze however outlined the setbacks of disunity over the years, adding that it has done no good, than peg Orhionmwon at a standpoint, stressing that it has led the Council to numerous developmental challenges.
He said, "Obviously, the disunity in Orhionmwon has led us to many developmental challenges. Progress does not dwell in the midst of disunity. Let us all embrace unity.
Meanwhile, the political juggernaut and grassroots mobilizer cum immediate past Special Adviser to Governor Godwin Obaseki on Community Development Matters, Deacon Newman Ugiagbe stressed on the need for the peace keeping meeting to run through the grassroots level, for absolute redefining and structuring, noting that the twelve wards of the Council must be surveyed for a long lasting harmonization.
His words, "This meeting is no doubt a step towards the right direction. We must ensure it gets to the grassroot for absolute redefining and structuring. The twelve wards of the Council must be surveyed for a long lasting harmonization"
On his part, an Elderstateman, kingmaker and former Chairman of the All Progressive Congress, Elder Ben Oghumu appreciate various leaders who work synergistically in ensuring the victory of Gov. Godwin Obaseki, adding that he is of the notion of embracing unity for party's coexistence.
He said, I thank the tireless efforts of all leaders who stood for the party, in ensuring the victory of our wake and see Governor Obaseki. It is a unanimous joy for us all. An an Elder who believes in peaceful coexistence, I will continue to stand and uphold unity for better Orhionmwon of our dream without sentiments"
In an interview with the renowned Peace Ambassador, Philanthropist and industrialist, Amb. Prince Wesley Asoro, he said he was wholeheartedly dedicated to activities which sought to ignite development to the Council, adding that a better and developed Orhionmwon is possible with Unity.
He said, "I appreciate the various leaders who stood for the development of Orhionmwon. It is our local government and we must all do our best to enhance development in any way we can"
One of the PDP Senatorial leaders from Orhionmwon, Hon. Lady Uwa Osunbor however cautioned the leaders to desist from the impediment of character assassination in politicky.
She said, Our leaders must be very cautious not to be a victim of similar mistakes made by our pioneer fathers, ridiculous painting the image of one another in a bad manner, as the issue of character assassination is becoming very common in our present day politics and it time for us to begin to look towards the creation of wealth in Orhionmwon outside allocation"
Other notable PDP leaders from Orhionmwon too numerous to mention however added their voices to the developmental agenda.
