Benin City: Proprietor of Bright Iyamu Foundation, Comrade Bright Iyamu has appealed to the State Governor, His Excellency, Gov. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigerian, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, to come to the aid of Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, following the recent attack and murder of some indigenes by alleged Fulani herdsmen in Ugo N' Iyekeorhionmwon Community, Ugboko Ward of Orhionmwon.
Comrade Iyamu made this appeal in the Good morning program anchored by Thomas Sadoh on Independence Television (ITV) earlier today.
The Ugboko born leader and philanthropist, Comrade Iyamu however frowned at the unholy act perpetrated by the alleged herdsmen who have engaged on series of raping, destruction of farmland and murder of innocent citizens, adding that Orhionmwon in particular and Edo at-large is no longer conducive for inhabitants due to the incessant rate of insecurity in the locality.
When contacted in a telephone conversation, the Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Hon. Sylvester Okoro further craved the indulgence of the State and Federal Government to come to his aid, as he reinstated commitment to monitor Data Base of Herders in Council, adding that he is resolute on his riot act read before the herders last year.
In his words, Hon. Okoro said "Farming remains an integral part of the local government and hence, the inhabitants should be protected. I appeal to both the State, Federal Government to come to our aid"
Mega House TV however reports that Comrade Bright Iyamu has vowed not to relent in any activity which sought to ignite development in Orhionmwon local government where he hails.
