WHY PIGEONS REFUSED TO FLY!
Dedicated to Ken Saro Wiwa
By: Goodluck Osama Ogbeide
Incapabilities like liabilities
Dazed our Nation's abilities
The wings of an eagle battered
And the hope of our Eaglet shattered
How will the pigeon fly
When our fallen Heroes cry
When the filthy hand of our leaders
Weak to its roots like INEC card readers
When our green grass
Has turned broken glass
When the blood of Saro Wiwa
And flaming journalist Dele Giwa
Keeps spilling hot tears at noon
Like the call of the River Nun
Innocent souls in Vanguish
As spirits fail to vanish
Seasoned joy of depression
Soak our fury heart without expression
Melting our liquid marble
With emotions Unfathomable
Our Pigeons derives pleasure
Without utmost pressure
For our leaders who are bad.
