*Breaking: Orhionmwon LG serves Pre- Action Notice on Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN)*

_Condemns plan to relocate Federal College of Forestry Management, Sokponba in Orhionmwon to Fugar_

Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State has served a one month Pre- Action Notice on the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN), in pursuant to section 19 (1) of the establishment, following the unilateral relocation of Federal College of Forestry Resources Management, Sokponba Community, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State to Fugar, Etsako Central Local Local Government Area of Edo State by the Provost,  Dr. B. Osikabor and others. 

The Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Hon. Sylvester Okoro, Mr. John Erhabor, and Mr. Peter Aghedo,indigenes and Stakeholders of Orhionmwon through their lawyer,  Famous Pen Law Firm served the Pre- Action notice on the 11th of January, 2021, after series of peaceful protest by the indigenes of Orhionmwon who recounted the numerous advantages of the popular and immemorial Sokponba reserve, adding that it will be a huge marginalization to relocate the institute from Orhionmwon to Fugar, after well meaning Stakeholders have agreed on the Sokponba Reserve.

In an interview, The Executive Chairman of the Council,  Hon. Sylvester Okoro frowned at the unholy act,  adding that it is an attempt to deny Orhionmwon her birth right,  as he craved the indulgence of Orhionmwon sons and daughters to remain calm, adding that he is currently on the matter,  alongside with some notable Orhionmwon stakeholders who are in to ensure Orhionmwon is not deprived of natural project. 

In his words,  "I am totally against the notion of relocating the Federal College of Forestry Management from Sokponba, Orhionmwon to Fugar. It is obvious that those who conceived that plan are not aware of the economic fortunes of the Sokponba Reserve of immemorial. We will not fold our hands and allow the broad day robbery"

He added "We have approached our lawyer, Famous Pen Law Firm and a Pre- Action Notice of one month have been served in pursuant to section 19 (1) of the establishment act of the institute and I sincerely crave the indulgence of Orhionmwon sons and daughters to remain calm and peaceful. At the end of the exercise,  Orhionmwon shall sing song of victory"

The Lawyer,  Famous Osawaru Esq, of Famous Pen Law Firm told Mega House TV that it was expedient to give the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria the one month Pre-action Notice,  which is pursuant to section 19(1) of the institution's establishment, adding that necessary steps will be taken, as their client,  Orhionmwon Council cannot afford to throw away their birth right.

Mega House TV also visited one of the Leaders of the Orhionmwon who hailed from the Ukpato ward where Sokponba is located, Hon. Newman Ugiagbe who is the immediate past Special Adviser to Governor Obaseki on Community Matters said the Pre- Action Notice is absolutely the best step taken,  adding that Orhionmwon cannot afford to loose such development seeking project. He further said he was optimistic that the institute will remain in Orhionmwon. In his words,

Hon. Ugiagbe said "The Pre -Action Notice is sincerely the best option taken,  for Legal purpose, as it appears that various consultations with Stakeholders weren't  producing the desired result. Myself, the Council Chairman and other well meaning Orhionmwon sons and daughters have been on the forefront and I am certain that the institute will remain in Orhionmwon, in spite of numerous hand works by some individuals who want it out of Orhionmwon for their self aggrandizement and self serving purposes,  forgetting the economic fortunes of the Sokponba Reserve of immemorial.
