*Armed Forces Day: Hon. Okoro Salutes The Gallantry of our Fallen Heroes, as well as reinstates commitment to enhance security architecture in Orhionmwon LG*
On the auspicious commemoration of the celebration of the Armed Forces Day Remembrance, Orhionmwon Council Boss Hon. Syvester Okoro laid the wreath to mark the annual ritual at the council's secretariat.
Delivery his special message, Hon. Okoro commended bravery of our past heroes for putting their lives in line for the defense of the Nation, as well as reinstates commitment to enhance security architecture in the Council.
He said, "as today marks the climax of the weeklong event set aside by federal government to remember our fallen heroes who paid the supreme sacrifice of laying down their lives during the Nigerian Civil War to keep the country together from disintegration. It's my prayer that the society takes her pride of place, in spite of the various challenges in the society"
The Council Boss commended the men of the Nigerian Legion, Orhionmwon Local Government Area Branch for their continue contributions to the peace and security that is enjoy in the area, saying "your role in crime prevention and vigilant services can not be overemphasize."
In his speech, the Council Legion Chairman of Orhionmwon Local Government, however praised the courageousness of the military personnel of the Army, Navy, Air Force and other para-military for their service to the fatherland.
He also use the medium to call on NGOs and Nigerians to keep supporting the Nigeria Armed Forces in the fight against insecurity and to also remember the families of war heroes by donating generously to support their wards they left behind.
The high point was match parades by legionnaire and National Youth Service Corp members serving in the local government area and the laying of wreath at the feet of the status at the council secretariat.
Present at the event includes vice chairman of the council, Secretary, Speaker of the legislative Arm, head of Local government administration, Treaurer to the local government, Heads of departments Enigie and Council Staffs.
